CADTH is an independent, not-for-profit organization responsible for providing health care decision-makers with objective evidence to help make informed decisions about the optimal use of health technologies, including:

  • drugs

  • diagnostic tests

  • medical, dental, and surgical devices and procedures.

In addition to evidence, we also provide advice, recommendations, and tools.

Healthy debate

Our mission is to provide accurate, accessible information about health care to the public, practitioners, journalists, students, managers and policy makers; to be a forum for thoughtful deliberation about Canada’s health care systems; and to increase the frequency with which health system leaders use evidence and informed public input when making policy and management decisions.

Making Evidence Matter creates original media content on public policy topics for publication in the mainstream media and links journalists with policy experts to provide access to non-partisan, evidence-based information.

Health Evidence

Our Vision: Canada's public health system is one in which organizations and individuals incorporate the best available evidence into decision making to promote optimal health among populations.

Our Mission: To make evidence easily accessible while developing organizational and individual capacity for evidence-informed public health decision making.

Our Goals:

  1. to provide a best in class resource of high quality evidence to support public health decision making

  2. to improve organizational and individual capacity for evidence-informed public health decision making

  3. to contribute to the growing body of evidence on how to facilitate and support evidence-informed decision making in public health

Manitoba Centre for Health Policy

We carry out population-based research on health services, population and public health, and the social determinants of health. Many factors affect health, such as health care, health programs and policies, income, education, employment and social circumstances. Our research helps Manitoba to maximize our healthcare dollars and to identify health and social policy tools we need for the future. We also research what will level the playing field between children from low- and high-income neighbourhoods, and northern and rural areas and urban areas.
